A Historic Win for FYHS!
On Wednesday, February 15th, FYHS played the inaugural varsity basketball game in the Rothner Family Gymnasium. The JV-varsity doubleheader against Beacon Academy had a playoff feel as FYHS/HTC students, parents, and alumni swarmed in to be at this historic game, while hundreds more watched online through the brand new NFHS livestream camera installed in the gym. All Yeshiva fans in attendance received a commemorative t-shirt, and 7th/8th graders in attendance were invited on to the court for a quick game during halftime. After a comfortable win in the JV game, things looked bleak when the varsity was down 15-4 early. After the nervous energy was out of the way, however, the varsity stormed back in the 3rd quarter and ultimately won 60-46 in the only home game this season in the new gym, resulting, of course, in Yeshiva fans storming the court.
